INTENT TO LIVING GREENER

Another goal, with my husband John, will be to begin to "live greener" in our condo:

1. Help Repower America by promoting national energy self-sufficiency
2. Kill junk mail, save trees
3. Swap more, shop less, buy gently used when possible
4. Look for Labels of True Value
5. Recycle electronic things when upgrading
6. Kick the plastic bottle habit

Living in a condo, and not a house, while having ownership of a unit and not renting, actually has quite a bit in common with living in an apartment. All decisions are not up to the individual owner--- this can make some difficulties in an intent to "live greener", but in small individual ways, as above, this can be done. For larger issues, such as recycling and using sustainable practices in landscaping, decisions must be made by the Community Association Board and carried out by Property Management.

One of my goals this year, in addition to John and I attempting to "live greener" in small ways, is for me to go on our Board and attempt to get these larger issues at least looked at and discussed. My hope is that change will be possible at Holten Gardens!
